Replacing your gasoline powered vehicle with an electric car is not only the green environmentally friendlier way to drive, it can also save you time and frustration. Few if any people enjoy putting gas in their cars. There’s the smell of the fumes, the time and detour to visit a gas station and of course the ever changing prices!
With an electric car all you need to do is plug it in when you get home. An effortless solution to those with a garage to house their car charger. Did you know that on-street parking space is also available in Philadelphia for car charging stations?
If you live in Philadelphia and contact the Philadelphia Parking Authority for permission, you can have a charging station installed on the sidewalk in front of your home. After the charger has been installed and passed final inspection the PPA will put up a sign reserving that spot for electric vehicles only! Perhaps not exactly 100% your own, but reserved to only electric vehicles.
City living may come with city challenges, but this is the closest you can get to owning the spot in front of your home and it sure beats the Philly tradition of leaving a chair or trash can in the street to try to keep others from parking there! You can also switch off power to the charger from inside your home to prevent unwanted use by anyone else.
